Thanks to all the volunteers who participated in VRC trainings in Hilliard and Urbancrest, who joined the 2-1-1 Emergency Team, and who attended the Franklin County Citizen Corps Volunteer Summit. This month, we are pleased to announce that registration has opened for a full scale exercise on April 4th. DISASTER VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Franklin County Emergency Management & Homeland Security Full Scale Exercise
Thursday, April 4th from 7AM-3PM (Volunteers will report to Vineyard Columbus, 6000 Cooper Road, Westerville, OH 43081).
Franklin County Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency will be conducting a Full Scale Exercise at multiple sites within Franklin County on Thursday, April 4th. This exercise is designed to test and evaluate the emergency plans and response of First Responders, Public Health, area Hospitals and community nonprofits, in the event of a coordinated attack on multiple schools in the county. Volunteer actors play an important role in exercise facilitation and help to provide as close to real world situations as possible.

2-1-1 Emergency Team Training
Now available by appointment, at HandsOn Central Ohio.
Get trained to become a member of HandsOn Central Ohio’s 2-1-1 Emergency Volunteer Team! The 2-1-1 Emergency Volunteer Team answers calls in HandsOn Central Ohio’s call center in the event of an emergency. Volunteers will be trained on the basics during an initial 2-hour session, and will schedule time in the coming weeks and months to come in and take calls to learn how the system works on a daily basis so you can be prepared if disaster strikes. 2-1-1 Tax Superstar Team
Now available by appointment, at HandsOn Central Ohio.
HandsOn Central Ohio is looking for Tax Superstars! Superstars help support the free tax site at HandsOn Central Ohio by greeting guests and performing various administrative tasks. Potential Superstars should be able to commit at least 4 hours per day, one day per week until April 15th, 2013. Superstars also should be friendly, have the ability to sit for extended periods of time, and should be comfortable folding paper and stuffing envelopes.
