Nora and Michael Hohl picked up litter from Strawberry Farms Blvd. and Blueberry Hollow all the way down to Strawberry Farms park during a litter hike with their mom, Alice Hohl, who serves as webmaster for the Strawberry Farms Civic Association.
The litter hike took place March 28, just before Earth Hour, which is an event for those who turn off all their lights and electronics for an hour around the globe. Nora and Michael are members of the Starry Sky Club, a Camp Fire club for boys and girls from Strawberry Farms and surrounding neighborhoods.
The children, ages 8 and 6, filled two garbage bags in less than an hour.
Litter hikes are a great way to improve the neighborhood. They don’t require any planning or special equipment. Just grab a plastic bag on your way out the door and have fun! Nora found a penny, so you never know what treasures are in store for you!
