Necessity Boxes Available for Seniors
March 19, 2020Help Map available on NextDoor
March 19, 2020Westerville School buses are delivering school lunches to children 18 and younger in the neighborhood.
Details regarding specific meal delivery locations are available online through the “Meal/Food Service” button at www.wcsoh.org/covid19. Those children wishing to obtain meals must be at the delivery location within the designated delivery time. Please keep the following in mind as you access this service:
- This delivery plan was developed according to USDA regulations, which state that every child who wants a meal must be present at the designated delivery location. Children will not be able to take meals back to siblings.
- Children will receive one lunch for the day and one breakfast meal for the next morning.
- We will have additional vehicles on standby to deliver more meals at a moment’s notice in case a location runs out of food and there are children who have not yet received their meals.
- We have been in contact with other community organizations, such as the Westerville Area Resource Ministry (WARM), that also are working to make meals available to families. Please continue to watch for information from these valued partners in this effort to keep our children fed during this extended closure.
If you have any questions, please call 614-797-4800. We are pleased to provide this service to our community and thank the many district employees and volunteers who are making this program possible.
Sincerely,
Karisa Dennis, Manager
