Trick-or-treating in Columbus is this Thursday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Paving the Way provides these friendly reminders for motorists and pedestrians for trick-or-treating across Central Ohio this coming Thursday,Friday, and Saturday so everyone can have a safe and fun Halloween:
- Motorists are reminded to be alert for pedestrians and to use extra caution driving, especially when entering or backing out of driveways, and when making turns at intersections during trick-or-treating hours this Thursday and Saturday.
- Parents should make sure their trick-or-treaters wear light and bright colors and use flashlights with fresh batteries or reflective tape for increased visibility. Avoid costumes that block vision or that might cause tripping.
- For children out trick-or-treating, and for parents who accompany them during trick-or-treat this Thursday, Friday or Saturday, some reminders for being a safe pedestrian:
Cross the street at corners.
Look left, right and left again when crossing.
Put cell phones away when walking.
Walk on sidewalks or paths. If there are no sidewalks, walk facing traffic as far to the left as possible.
