We held our Neighborhood Wine & Cheese on January 31, 2017.

Present were:

  • Alice Foeller, President
  • Anita Absalom, Treasurer and Membership
  • Melinda Weiss, Special Events
  • Patty Fitzgerald, Landscaping

As well as five community residents, and a representative from the City of Columbus, Bruce Black.

Meeting minutes from November were approved.

Discussion was held on the relationship with the Four Pointe apartments, which hosted the meeting.

The Treasurer’s report revealed about a 6% membership rate in the association, with 57 members in 2016.

The association’s grant request for funds to direct-mail a newsletter is pending with the United Way. We thank the Northland Alliance for being our fiscal agent.

Our Neighborhood PRIDE application is also pending.

The board voted unanimously to elect Patty Fitzgerald as Landscaping Chair.

The board regretfully accepted the resignation of longtime volunteer and longtime past president, Tina Zahn.

It was reported that median home price in our neighborhood is $165,900, which is an upward trend. With more home sales, how can we welcome new residents? Median rent is $1100/mo. Can we get more of our upscale renters involved in the neighborhood?

Proposed Calendar of Events for the Year:

Tentative: April 15 – Easter Egg Hunt – EMA or the Korean Church

Fall Festival – dependent on OSU football

Winter – Santa visit

OPEN DISCUSSION

How to help?

Here are the Vacant and Important positions open on the board: Secretary, Vice President, Newsletter

We Also Need: Director of Newsletter Distribution, Director of Safety, Director of Advertising

Mr. Black from the City of Columbus addressed the group, describing the scope of the PRIDE program, which would bring a week of intensive city services to the neighborhood, as well as daily free activities and programs for residents, including breakfast, a cookout, etc.
